Drink-drivers reported by family

Eleven of the 20 drink-drivers detected in a police campaign in the Highlands and Islands were reported by a family member or the public.

Northern Constabulary said two other drivers were also found to be under the influence of drugs.

The Safer Summer campaign was overseen by the Association of Chief Police Officers in Scotland (Acpos).

Insp John Smith said the fact people were willing to call police with the information was encouraging.
