Murder probe into youth's death

Detectives have launched a murder inquiry following the death of a teenager in Glasgow.

Strathclyde Police said an altercation happened at a house in Drakemire Drive, Castlemilk, at about 0305 BST.

As a result the 17-year-old boy received fatal wounds and was pronounced dead at the scene.

A Strathclyde Police spokesman said relatives had been informed and a report would be sent to the procurator fiscal.

Det Insp Paul Livingstone said: "A young man's life has ended prematurely and it's imperative we trace the person or people who are responsible.

"I appreciate that the incident happened within a residential property and occurred in the early hours of Sunday morning but I would appeal to anyone who may have seen or heard anything suspicious to contact us as soon as possible."
