Man killed in Argyll road crash
A man has died and a woman has been seriously injured after a road crash in Argyll.

Police said the incident involved a Vauxhall Frontera estate and a box van, travelling on the A828 near Appin House corner at Portnacroish.

Emergency crews were called to the scene at about 0900 BST but found a 54-year-old male passenger in the Frontera had died.

The female driver of the car was taken by air ambulance to hospital in Oban.

The 49-year-old male driver of the van was uninjured.

A report is due to be sent to the procurator fiscal.

Constable Gerry Welsh of Strathclyde Police appealed for witnesses to the crash to contact him at Oban Police Office on 01631 510500.
