Two charged with murder after death of man from Hawick

Two men have appeared in court charged with the murder of a Hawick man.

Aleksandr Podgornoi, 24, and Vladimir Jakovlev, 23, are accused of being involved with the death of Christopher McColm.

The 41-year-old was found seriously injured in his home in the Roxburghshire town on Good Friday and died two days later in hospital.

The Russian nationals made no plea or declaration when they appeared on petition at Edinburgh Sheriff Court.

The pair were remanded in custody.
