Reliance is responsible for escorting prisoners

The private security firm, Reliance, has been cleared of any blame for the release of a prisoner at Glasgow District Court on Monday.

After an investigation, the Scottish Prison Service (SPS) said an "administrative" error had been to blame for Elizabeth Breen being freed.

She was due to face two shoplifting charges but was allowed to go after appearing in court on only one charge.

Documents given to Reliance did not say she faced two charges, the SPS said.
