Female bodybuilder battles for life
Aberdeen Royal Infirmary
Louise Halliwell was rushed to hospital
A woman bodybuilder is fighting for her life in hospital after being found unconscious at her home in Scotland.

Police have launched an investigation after Louise Halliwell of Elgin, Morayshire, was taken to Aberdeen Royal Infirmary.

The 35-year-old bodybuilder, who runs a gym in her home town, has remained seriously ill since being found on 19 April.

It is understood she may have taken an overdose of bodybuilding drugs

Grampian Police spokesman

A Grampian Police spokesman said: "We are investigating the circumstances into this incident involving Ms Halliwell who was found unconscious in her home.

"It is understood she may have taken an overdose of bodybuilding drugs."

The spokesman added: "We have launched the inquiry with a view to determining exactly how Ms Halliwell became unconscious."

Police officers hope to speak to the bodybuilder, who has a number of power-lifting titles in Scotland, when she recovers.

One line of inquiry is understood to centre on the possibility she overdosed on the hormone insulin, which is used by some sports enthusiasts to improve their muscles.
