Having the right attitude

Amber Roberts received a fellowship with the Congressional Hunger Center and was placed in Portland. Having never been to the west coast, Amber quickly fell in love with the city.

"Moving out here, across the country, has taught me that I can pretty much adapt to anything," Amber said.

She enjoys the city's food and music culture and the way people interact with each other. Down the road and after graduate school, Amber can definitely see herself back in Portland.

"I've been bitten by the Portland bug," said Amber, who will soon move back to Washington, D.C. to complete her fellowship.
