'My friends think I don't spend enough money on my wardrobe. So my saving instincts are a mixed blessing for Working Lunch...' says Dominic.

Like Declan, his parents hail from Northern Ireland but they moved to London just before young Dominic was born.

He grew up in North London, where he still lives.

As part of his university degree course in French and Italian, Dominic spent a year teaching English at a secondary school in Rome. Where he apparently made the most of each opportunity to cruise around on a Vespa, dressed up to the nines in shades and denim (although he was strangely reluctant to hand over any photos).

After university he spent five years working in brand management, first at United Biscuits where his allocated brand of diet crisps failed to get his tastebuds tingling, then more high-flyingly at low-cost airline Go.

But eventually the need to find more out about the world became irresistible, and so Dominic retrained as a broadcast journalist at the age of 29.

Stints at BBC Radio Oxford, 5 live and a brief spell at Sky News followed before he landed back in the BBC Newsroom as a business reporter/presenter and joined Working Lunch in January 2009.

In what little spare time we allow him, Dominic loves travelling. He's also an Arsenal season ticket holder. 'Not the best year...' he says ruefully.
