Jeremy Bowen reports on the human cost of the huge earthquake under the Indian ocean.

The resulting killer waves have shattered communities from Malaysia to Kenya.

This programme uncovers the extraordinary personal stories of how British tourists, aid teams and tens of thousands of local people are dealing with the enormous loss of life brought by the tsunami disaster.

The Killer Waves: A Real Story special was broadcast on BBC One from 2100 to 2200 GMT on Thursday, 6 January 2005.
