Miss Favela

Map shows the location of Miss Favela

This colourful restaurant is one of the more lively and fun places to eat and drink in New York - and the closest thing you'll find to a 'botequim' or Brazilian neighbourhood bistro.

Traditional dishes like Moqueca de Peix e Pirao (a fish stew with made with coconut milk) and Carne seca come mandloca (dried beef with yucca) make for a tasty and authentic Brazilian menu.

This is a great place to head if you happen to be in New York around Mardi Gras, but live music and DJs make for a party atmosphere all year round.

The restaurant is located in Williamsburg, Brooklyn, a neighbourhood with a strong music and arts scene.

It is very close to the Williamsburg Bridge, which, when it opened in 1903, was the longest suspension bridge in the world. In 2003, the Bridge celebrated its 100th anniversary in style, with performances, a parade and a truck-sized birthday cake.

Miss Favela offers traditional Brazilian food and a party atmosphere.
