On More or Less this week, we offered a hamperful of numerical trivia and delight.
There is a look at the numbers behind the TV show Deal or No Deal, where contestants choose from a number of boxes containing the promise of different amounts of cash, hoping to be left with the biggest at the end.
Along the way, a banker offers them a deal to give up the rest of the game.
The show is not only big ratings. It has been studied by professors of finance to see how individuals behave when faced with risk and reward over potentially large sums of money.
It has also a way of putting a price on regret.
We were also be looking, in a programme broadcast on Christmas Day, at the strange gymnastics our calendar has been through to get us here.
Then there is the "your lungs have the surface area of a tennis court" legend.
Is it true? More or Less has the answer.
More trivia follows with the German lottery that produced the same combination of six balls on two occasions.
What are the odds on that? Much lower than you might think.
Plus a question about the average age of a randomly chosen 21-year-old and a randomly chosen 22-year-old.
If it seems obvious that the answer is 21.5, think a little more, and tune in for the answer.
