BBC Radio 4's Money Box Live Budget Call was broadcast on Thursday, 17 March, 2005 at 1200 GMT.

Chancellor Gordon Brown has unveiled his ninth Budget with measures designed to appeal to pensioners, families with children and those struggling to get on to the housing ladder.

But as ever there was a great deal of detail to unpick, so the Money Box team was on hand to help you make sense of what it means for you.
