The future of pensions
Work and Pensions Secretary Alan Johnson
BBC Radio 4's Money Box will be broadcast on Saturday, 5 February 2005, at 1204 GMT.

The programme was repeated on Sunday, 6 February, 2005, at 2102 GMT.

In a wide-ranging interview, Money Box presenter Paul Lewis interviewed the Work and Pensions Secretary Alan Johnson.

Changes in Incapacity Benefit featured highly in the five-year plan for benefits and pensions announced this week.

But there other important issues too, such as the future of state pension provision and the new Pension Protection Fund due to start in April.

Meanwhile, Mr Johnson is facing up to the possibility of a series of public sector strikes over changes in pensions.

New Axa adverts after fine

Axa Sun Life has begun re-advertising two of its products following a 500,000 fine imposed by the Financial Services Authority in December.

The insurer was fined for a series of misleading adverts which the FSA said did not properly explain the risks or how the products worked.

We asked Anna Bradley, a director from the Financial Services Authority what went wrong, and examined what Axa has been doing to compensate investors.
