Are 'polarising' politics damaging the USA?

Nicolas Berggruen made his fortune buying companies in trouble, fixing them up and selling them off.

Nicknamed "the homeless billionaire" for having given up almost all his possessions more than 10 years ago, the American-German investor now spends millions to trying to change the way America and the West is governed.

He tells Sarah Montague why he thinks that the US elections - by providing a "winner" and a "loser" - helps to polarise a political system that no longer works.
