George Bizos: I didn't want Mandela to be seen 'seeking martyrdom'

George Bizos was part of the legal defence team which represented Nelson Mandela and other ANC leaders at the Rivonia treason trial in 1964 which sentenced him to prison on Robben Island.

He first met Mandela in the 1950s and remains a close friend to this day.

Mr Bizos explains why he suggested a late amendment to Mandela's famous speech which he delivered before being sentenced.
