Immigration provokes 'fear and anger' in Australia

Australia is a country built by immigrants, so why does the issue of immigration so divide and antagonise 21st century Australians?

Stephen Sackur joined radio talk show host David Oldfield, who also co-founded the far-right One Nation party, to discuss whether fears of new waves of people trying to enter the country are founded.

HARDtalk is on the road in Australia for a three-part series. The first programme which looks at the contentious issue of immigration is on BBC World News on Monday 11 April 2011 at 0330, 0830, 1530, and 2030 GMT and on Tuesday 12 April on BBC News Channel at 0030 BST.
