In a HARDtalk interview first broadcast on 6 February 2008, Stephen Sackur talks to the head of the Pakistan Human Rights Commission, Asma Jahangir.

Pakistan's president Musharraf has promised that this month's parliamentary elections will be free, fair and transparent.

But he's also told Western critics to drop the arrogant assumption that all democracies must resemble theirs.

Asma Jahangir is the head of the Pakistan Human Rights Commission.
