Extra caught up with Terry Jones at his home in north London
In a Hardtalk Extra programme broadcast on Friday 27th October, Gavin Esler talks to Terry Jones, a member of the Monty Python comedy team, about life after being in the world's most successful comedy troupe.

Of all the former members of the Monty Python team, Terry Jones has carved out the most versatile career.

He's a children's author and medieval historian - though he's probably best known as a film director.

Building on successful directorial outings with The Holy Grail and Life of Brian, he struck out on his own with films like Personal Services and Erik the Viking.

He tells Gavin Esler about the trials of making big budget films and what its like to live with the legacy of Python.

HARDtalk Extra can be seen on BBC World at 0330 GMT, 0830 GMT, 1430 GMT, 1830 GMT, 2330 GMT.

It can also be seen on BBC News 24 at 04:30 and 23:30.
