Examining Extremism
Can the multiculturalism project continue?

In a HARDtalk interview broadcast on 3 August, Stephen Sackur talks to Sir Iqbal Sacranie, the head of the Muslim Council of Britain.

The British government has launched a series of meetings with Muslim leaders in towns and cities across Britain to improve community relations after the London bombings.

The aim is to find ways of tackling extremism and to bring together different races and religions.

However, many of Britain's Muslim youth say that it's their leaders who are out of touch and blame them for the rise in the popularity of extremist groups.

Stephen Sackur talks to the head of the Muslim Council of Britain, Sir Iqbal Sacranie, and asks if his organisation is out of touch.

HARDtalk can be seen on BBC World at 03:30 GMT, 0830 GMT, 1530 GMT, 1830 GMT, 2330 GMT

It can also be seen on BBC News 24 at 04:30 and 23:30
