Globalisation's dark side, children with SARS masks on, criminal handcuffed

Over the past decade the term "globalisation" has come to characterise the predominant trend in world affairs.

But what exactly does it mean?

In this three-part series, the BBC's Diplomatic Correspondent Jonathan Marcus explores the fundamental shifts in the global system since the end of the Cold War.

Jonathan Marcus travels to the 17th century plague village of Derbyshire and patrols with NATO troops in Kosovo to investigate globalisation's "dark side".
