Kate's triple training trial
Breakfast's Kate Silverton
Breakfast's Kate Silverton practising her 'transition'
Would you choose to swim 750m in open water, cycle for 20km and then follow it up with a nice 5km sprint to the finish line?

No, we thought not.

But one woman who didn't pale at the very thought of the effort involved was Breakfast's own Kate Silverton.

She's been in training for this Saturday's London Triathlon, which is celebrating its tenth anniversary this year.

And, heartless souls that we are, we've sent a camera crew to watch her last minute sessions in the gym, as she faces the ultimate challenge in the Triathlon's Sprint category.

  • Find out how Kate's training is going from the link to the right of this page
  • Kate also had some last minute tips in the studio on Friday from veteran triathlete Anneliese Heard.

She explained to Kate how to prepare herself for the 'transition' from one event to the next, which should all happen seamlessly.

And Kate was advised to keep bulking up on pasta as the carbohydrates will help her store up the energy she'll need for the gruelling challenge.

  • Kate finished Saturday's Triathlon in a very respectable one hour and 47 minutes. We'll have a recording of our report on her performance later this morning on this page.
