While she was at college, Sue's flatmate bet her that she couldn't do a turn as a stand-up comedian.
Never one to duck a challenge, Sue booked herself a stand-up slot - and began her comedy career.
That was nearly two decades ago - and for most of that time, Sue's been best known for her work with her comedy partner Mel Giedroyc.
Now, she's going it alone, with a new solo comedy act, called Spectacle Wearer of the Year 2006, which she'll be performing at this year's Edinburgh festival.
