Gorse fire 'started deliberately'

The Fire Service have been called to two separate gorse fires.

A gorse fire in County Tyrone on Wednesday was started deliberately, the Northern Ireland Fire and Rescue Service has said.

Eight appliances attended the fire, which had a three kilometre front, at Gortin Glen Forest, outside Omagh.

The Fire Service said they were called to the fire shortly before 1200 BST and that it was under control by 2000 BST.

Another six appliances were called to deal with a fire near Bloody Bridge in the Mournes, also on Wednesday.
