North Belfast bomb alert 'crude hoax'

A bomb alert in north Belfast which caused a number of families to leave their homes has ended.

Oldpark Road was closed between Rossapena Street and Churchview Court after the discovery of a suspect object.

The alert started at about 1950 GMT on Thursday. A nearby parochial hall was made available to the families who had to leave their homes.

The object was examined by army bomb experts and declared a crude hoax.
