79-year-old dies after house fire

A 79-year-old woman has died following a house fire in south Belfast.

Three fire engines attended the scene of the blaze at a house at Glenholm Crescent in the Four Winds area of the city at about 1800 BST on Sunday.

The pensioner, whose name has not yet been released, was rescued from the house and given medical assistance by firefighters.

She was then taken to the Royal Victoria Hospital for treatment, but later died there from her injuries.

The fire is not being treated as suspicious.
