Charges over £700,000 drugs haul

Five men have been charged with drugs offences after the seizure of cannabis worth an estimated £700,000 in east Belfast on Friday morning.

The drugs were recovered along with cash and three cars during a police operation at the Holywood Exchange retail park.

All five men have been charged with possession of a class b drug and possession with intent to supply.

Two of the men are aged 40, one is 27, one 26 and the fifth 21.

The operation involved officers from the PSNI organised crime branch and HM Revenue and Customs.
