Actors from the Harry Potter series of films weaved a little magic in Belfast on Saturday.

The three stars, who first appeared in Harry Potter and the Philosopher's Stone, met fans at a hotel in a city.

Christopher Rankin who played Percy Weasley, Jamie Yeates (Marcus Flint) and Paul Marc Davis (Lord Draben) appeared at a Harry Potter convention.

The actors answered questions and talked about working on the films.

They also signed autographs and posed for photographs with fans.

New Zealander Christopher Rankin landed the role of Percy Weasley in August 2000, which marked the beginning of his professional on-camera acting career.

Londoner Jamie Yeates played Marcus Flint, the captain of the Slytherin Quiditch team and has appeared in a total of three Potter films.

Paul Marc Davis, also from London, played Lord Draben, one of Hogwarts resident ghosts, in The Philosopher's Stone.

He also guest starred in the latest Doctor Who series and will soon be seen in one of its spin-off series The Sarah Jane Adventures.

The first installment of the Harry Potter series by J.K. Rowling, Harry Potter and the Philosopher's Stone, was published in June 1997.

The film adaptation of the first book was released in November 2001 with Daniel Radcliffe in the starring roll.

The series follows Harry through his seven years at Hogwart's School of Witchcraft and Wizardry and concluded with the final book in the series, Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows earlier this year.
