Cyclone Sidr has left hundreds dead, and has damaged or destroyed tens of thousands of homes in southern and central Bangladesh.
Many of the worst affected areas have been cut off, complicating relief efforts. Roads were blocked with debris and power and phone lines down.
Entire villages have been levelled, with residents left trying to salvage what they can from their homes.
Medical aid is getting through to a few of those injured in the disaster, but many areas are still without help.
Many families have been left using their bare hands to try to move fallen trees and rebuild destroyed homes.
For some, the basic need for dry clothes has to be put before rebuilding work.
The need to tend to badly damaged crops is also an urgent task.
Hundreds of thousands had fled the cyclone, carrying their possessions as they sought shelter from the storm.
But many were left behind, and though hundreds have already been confirmed dead, that toll is expected to rise.
