Little Britain star Matt Lucas and his partner Kevin McGee were "married" in a civil ceremony at the private member's club Home House in London.

Later, the "newlyweds" dressed as Aladdin and Prince Charming for their pantomime-themed wedding reception.

Lucas' comedy partner David Walliams, who came as panto regular Christopher Biggins, was accompanied by his fairy godmother, Barbara Windsor.

Pop idol Will Young took a cue from Little Britain and came as a lady. An ugly sister, to be precise.

Rock star and actress Courtney Love became a Queen of Hearts for the evening.

Matt Lucas's mother, Diana, joined in the fun at Banqueting House in Whitehall.

No stranger to flamboyant costumes, Sir Elton John arrived as Captain Hook while his partner David Furnish was transformed into Prince Charming.

But Sir Elton was not the only Captain Hook, as chat show host Paul O'Grady brought a sense of menace to the evening.

Singer Stephen Gately (left) and X-Factor judge Louis Walsh (centre) were also among the guests.

EastEnders bad boy Steve McFadden stayed true to form and arrived as the sinister Demon Prince.
