Cruise and Kidman divorce next week

Kidman and Cruise are officially divorced on 8 August

The divorce of Hollywood star actors Tom Cruise and Nicole Kidman will be finalised next week.

Los Angeles Superior court judge Lee Edmon has signed papers allowing the fast-track divorce to go through on 8 August.

The judge granted Cruise's request to "bifurcate" the case - meaning issues of custody, money, property and other things will be decided in October.

Neither Cruise nor Kidman attended the court hearing, but both are expected to attend the premiere of The Others on the same day their divorce is made final.

The film was produced by Cruise and stars Nicole Kidman.

Public appearance

If the two do appear together at the gala screening in Los Angeles, it will be the first time the two have publicly met since their separation.

Cruise and Kidman, who have two children, ended their 10-year marriage in February. Cruise filed for divorce, claiming "irreconcilable differences".

According to divorce court file papers, Kidman begged Cruise not to end their marriage and later miscarried a baby she was carrying.

Both Cruise and Kidman have been romantically linked with other people since the split.

Tom Cruise is allegedly dating Penelope Cruz

Tom Cruise is currently dating actress Penelope Cruz, according to reports.

Cruise and Cruz were first romantically linked after co-starring in Cameron Crowe's forthcoming film Vanilla Sky.

Cruise's spokeswoman Pat Kingsley told Entertainment Tonight that they "had a few dates".

Nicole Kidman recently took her two children, Isabella and Connor, on holiday to the Wakaya Club on the island of Fiji.

New Zealand actor Russell Crowe visited the same resort at around the same time, according to the Fiji Visitors Bureau.

Tom Cruise later visited the resort with a female companion alleged to be Penelope Cruz.
