Robbie Williams is celebrating a famous double with his single and album both at number one in their respective charts.

His single, Somethin' Stupid, a duet with actress Nicole Kidman, is on course for the coveted Christmas number one slot, with one bookmaker, Paddy Power, already paying out on the song heading the festive charts.

Robbie Williams' album, Swing When You're Winning, a tribute to the Rat Pack singers of the 1950s and 1960s, maintains its hold on the album charts for a fourth week.

Most bookmakers still expect a close finish for the Christmas number one slot between the glamorous duo and little-known singer Gordon Haskell, a former King Crimson band member.

Haskell, billed by newspapers as a "pub singer", has had advance orders of up to a quarter of a million copies for his song How Wonderful You Are.

Second release

Michael Jackson's single Cry, a second release from his widely-panned album Invincible, only made it to number 25 in the charts.

Spice Girl Emma Bunton also had a disappointing return to the charts. Her single We're Not Gonna Sleep Tonight entered at number 20 in the chart.

The only other new entries in the top 10 were Ian Van Dahl's Will I, at number five, and Lately by Samantha Mumba, at number six.
