British stars Adele and Leona Lewis are among the headliners at this year's VH1 Divas concert in New York. Kelly Clarkson and Miley Cyrus will also perform at the cable music channel's event, which is returning after a five-year hiatus. VH1 spokesman Lee Rolontz said the four singers were an "amazingly talented group of young women". The show, a fundraiser for the Save The Music Foundation, will be shown live on VH1 in the US on 17 September. 'Unforgettable performances' The non-profit organisation was created to promote musical education in US schools. VH1 said more artists would be added to the line-up for the event, which will take takes place at the Brooklyn Academy of Music. "Adele, Kelly, Leona and Miley have all captured the world's attention with their talent and have earned their designation as VH1 Divas this year," Mr Rolontz said. "These women are among the best entertainers in the world and will continue to thrill music fans for a long time to come." Mariah Carey, Tina Turner, Whitney Houston, Diana Ross and Cher have all performed at previous Diva concerts. Since the first Diva concert in 1998, musical instruments worth $43m (£26.2m) have been donated to 1,600 schools in 100 cities.
