Blur raffle tickets for charity

The band are set to play at Glastonbury this year

Blur are holding a contest to win tickets for two of their gigs to raise money for a village hall and railway museum ahead of their UK tour.

Fans can pay £5 to win one of 46 pairs of tickets for concerts at London Goldsmith's College and the Colchester East Anglian Railway Museum.

Money raised will go to the Aldham Village Hall, East Anglian Railway Museum and the Teenage Cancer Trust.

Details of the contest can be found at

The band, best known for songs such as Parklife and Country House, are set to perform 10 dates as part of their tour, which kicks off on 13 June.

They will also play at this year's Glastonbury festival later this summer.

Formed in 1989, Blur have recorded seven studio albums and had a string of UK top 10 singles.

Their last album, Think Tank, was released in 2003.

Since then, lead singer Damon Albarn has worked on his pop project Gorillaz, with cartoonist Jamie Hewlett, as well as writing an opera.
