Jordan nanny's 'privacy invaded'

The complaint was made about ITV2's Katie and Peter: The Baby Diaries

The privacy of model Katie Price's former nanny was infringed by footage of her sacking on her ITV2 reality show, Ofcom has found.

Scenes criticised included one showing Price - also known as Jordan - sacking Rebecca Gauld in a phone call.

ITV said it was "warranted editorially" as part of the unfolding story.

Last week, Price and Andre accepted damages from the News of the World over a piece based on an interview with Ms Gauld portraying them as bad parents.

The newspaper also retracted all comments made in the article, published in February.

The couple's solicitor told London's High Court that the article was trailed as "Jordan exposed: Nanny reveals sex, rows, binges and what she's really like as a mum".

Holiday row

In its findings, published on Monday, Ofcom also found that a scene showing Ms Gauld's room at the couple's home - as well as footage which included her telephone number - infringed her privacy.

It also upheld Ms Gauld's complaint that conversations she had with other members of staff and programme makers when she returned to collect her belongings should not have been broadcast in Katie and Peter: The Baby Diaries.

The Ofcom report said that, in the episode, Price had found out that Ms Gauld had "gone on holiday to Portugal rather than to Wales to see her father as she had told her employers".

"Ms Price believed that Ms Gauld had lied to her and let her down," the report continued.

'Genuine mistake'

Ofcom found that Ms Gauld had not been allowed to respond to allegations that she had lied about the holiday and had neglected her duties.

ITV said that it had included some responses from Ms Gauld including the nanny admitting that she should have told Price where she was.

ITV added that footage of a document which showed Ms Gauld's mobile phone number had been included as "a genuine mistake" and said the number had been visible for one second.

And it said that filming her room had not been an infringement of privacy because she had occupied the bedroom under a licence "which terminated as soon as her employment ended".
