Britney's manager 'drugged star'
Britney Spears arriving at court on 14 January 2008
Britney Spears is undergoing psychiatric evaluation in hospital
Britney Spears' manager has been banned from going near her after the troubled star's mother took out a restraining order in a Los Angeles court.

Lynne Spears claimed Sam Lutfi, 33, drugged her daughter, cut off her phone lines and called her an "unfit mother". In a six-page declaration, she said Mr Lutfi "moved into Britney's home and has purported to take control of her life, home and finances".

The restraining order bans Mr Lutfi from contacting Ms Spears in any way.

He must stay away from the singer, her homes, her parents and siblings' homes and the hospital where she is undergoing psychiatric evaluation.

"He yells at her. He claims to control everything - Britney's business manager, her attorneys and the security guards at the gate," the singer's mother said in the declaration made public in court documents.

She claimed he disconnected the star's home phone line and removed her mobile phone chargers.

The paparazzi reported to him and treated him "like a general", she said.

The declaration focused on the night of 28 January, a few days before the Grammy-winning superstar was admitted to hospital.

The singer, who recently lost custody of her two young sons, continually asked to see her children that night, her mother said.

"What do I have to do to see them?" her mother quoted her as saying.

"Sam responded: 'Take the pills I tell you to take.' Britney said: 'I don't like the pills and I don't like the psychiatrist. Can't I see another psychiatrist so I can see my babies?'

"Sam responded: 'If I told you to take 10 pills a day, you should do what I tell you to see your babies.'"

Lynne Spears also claimed Mr Lutfi ground up the star's medication and put it in her food to keep her quiet.

"He told us that the doctor who is treating her now is trying to get her into a sleep-induced coma so that they could then give her drugs to heal her brain," she said.

He allegedly said he was the one giving Spears her medication and "he told me if he weren't in the house to give Britney her medicine, she would kill herself".

Lynne Spears also alleged that Mr Lutfi "told Britney she was an unfit mother, a piece of trash and a whore, that she cares more about Adnan [Ghalib], her current boyfriend, than she cares about her kids and that she does not deserve her kids".

A psychiatrist has been appointed by a judge to determine if the 26-year-old singer is capable of understanding the current legal proceedings concerning her.

Lynne Spears said her daughter met Mr Lutfi last October.

Mr Lutfi told The Associated Press news agency: "I have no problems with anyone writing anything negative against me. My image is not of concern, hers is."
