Hadley hints at Spandau reunion
Spandau Ballet
Spandau Ballet was one of the UK's biggest bands in the 1980s
Spandau Ballet could be set to make a comeback after singer Tony Hadley said he hoped to reunite with his former 1980s bandmates.

The band, who had a string of hits with songs like True, had a bitter fall-out which ended in the High Court in 1999.

Hadley, Steve Norman and John Keeble sued Gary Kemp for a 1m share of the songwriting royalties, but lost.

Discussing his hopes on Virgin Radio, Hadley said things got "personal" and he was ready to bury the hatchet.

Spandau Ballet had their first hit in November 1980 with To Cut A Long Story Short.

After a hugely successful career, they had their last top 40 single in 1987 with How Many Lies.

Brothers Gary and Martin Kemp went on to become actors with starring roles in the film The Krays.

Martin Kemp later starred in EastEnders as club owner Steve Owen. He was not involved in the later High Court action.

The band faced each other in the High Court in 1999 and relations have been non-existent since.

Hadley went on to win ITV reality show Reborn In The USA and has appeared in the West End musical Chicago.

Gary Kemp reportedly approached Hadley about a reunion for Live 8 in 2005 but was turned down.

But Hadley told Virgin Radio's Shane Richie show that he was ready to put the past behind him.

He said: "There'll have to be an awful lot of things remedied because things did get personal and it went a bit too far.

"The next window of opportunity that I see would be our 30th anniversary, in about four years' time."

Martin Kemp has previously said he would welcome a reunion.

"I'm sure that if the five of us ever worked together ever again, after 15 minutes of being in a room together we'd forget about everything and we'd be laughing at the same stupid jokes we were laughing at when we were 17," he said.
