The BBC intends to bring back the 1990s drama This Life for a 10th anniversary special next year.
The popular BBC Two show about the turbulent personal lives of a group of young London lawyers ran for two series in 1996 and 1997.
It made stars of the actors Andrew Lincoln, Jack Davenport, Daniela Nardini and Amita Dhiri.
A spokeswoman for the BBC said they were in the "very early stages" of planning the one-off special.
Audiences followed the exploits of characters Anna, Miles, Milly, Egg and Warren.

The BBC spokeswoman said they were talking to producer Tony Garnett whose independent production company, World Productions, made the show.
The one-off show would bring the characters up to date, looking at their lives 10 years after the events of the final episode.
The spokeswoman said: "We are not planning to recommission This Life but there is a possibility of doing something to mark the anniversary."
The second series ended in 1997 with the final episode featuring a memorable fight scene between Milly and another character, Rachel, at Miles's wedding.
Since This Life, Lincoln has gone on to star in the Channel 4 series Teachers.
Davenport appeared in the TV comedy Coupling and has carved out a film career with roles in movies such as The Talented Mr Ripley and Pirates of the Caribbean, with Johnny Depp.
