Britney 'to star in reality show'
Britney Spears and Kevin Federline
The couple wed in September 2004
Britney Spears and her husband Kevin Federline are to star in their own reality TV show, it has been revealed.

Spears told Variety magazine she wanted to take part in the show to dispel many rumours about her and her marriage.

UPN has signed the couple up for a six part series, which Federline said would be a "documentation of love".

The pair will also executive-produce the show. The series will feature home footage of Spears' European tour, wedding preparations and her big day.

Spears and Federline will also host the show, providing commentary for their video clips.

"From the day that Kevin and I met, there have been constant rumours and inaccurate speculation about our lives together," she told Variety.

"I feel that last year the tabloids ran my life and I am really excited about showing my fans what really happened rather than all the stories, which have been misconstrued by journalists in the past.

"I am now going to be expressing my personal life through art."

Familiar ground

UPN president Dawn Ostroff said the couple now had the chance to "tell their love story their way".

The untitled Spears show follows in the footsteps of fellow pop singer Jessica Simpson, who starred in her own reality series, Newlyweds, with husband Nick Lachey.

On the back of its success, her sister Ashlee Simpson launched her own singing career and landed a reality series.

Others who have followed suit include former Playboy model Anna Nicole Smith and British celebrity couple Jordan and Peter Andre.
