Dawson's Creek bows out
Dawson's Creek
The cast want to concentrate on movies
The adolescent angst and drama of Dawson's Creek is drawing to a close as the final episode screens in the US on Wednesday.

The popular series has been running for six seasons, following the trials and tribulations of a group of friends growing up in the fictional town of Capeside.

What are your Dawson Creek memories?

The show was axed after the show's cast decided to move on to concentrate on their movie careers.

The series will bow out with a two-hour finale wrapping up storylines involving the intertwined love lives of the show's young cast.

In keeping with the series, fans can expect twists and tears as the group return home for a final reunion.

UK audiences are a series behind their US counterparts and season six is not expected to begin screening until next year.

Love triangle

One of Dawson's Creek's traits was the ability of its characters to analyse every situation and hold elaborate conversations.

And the complex love triangle between Dawson, Joey and Pacey kept viewers hooked before new friends joined the group to spice things up.

The formula proved a success and it became a ratings hit, eventually transferring to British screens on Channel 4.

In recent years the characters have grown up and gone on to university where they have faced yet more life-changing challenges.

Many of the show's actors have already gone on to star in movies including James Van Der Beek - Dawson Leery - whose latest movie Rules of Attraction saw him play a drug dealer.

Katie Holmes, who plays Joey, has starred in Phone Booth, The Gift and the upcoming remake of The Singing Detective.
