Cycle Santas take bikes to Africa
Children on bicycles
Unwanted bikes are donated
Youngsters from Bradford on Avon have travelled to the Gambia to play Santa to local children.

They took with them second hand bikes, collected and distributed by Gloucestershire charity Jole Rider and St Laurence School, Bradford on Avon.

The bikes have been donated from various sources and it is hoped they will be the first of many shipments.

Around 300 bikes have already been earmarked for schools in the Gambia for delivery in April.

Youngsters there will also be taught how to maintain the cycles through bike repair workshops.

The Jole Rider charity, which is based at South Cerney, ships refurbished bikes to Africa enabling many children to get to school.

It also helps form links between UK secondary schools and schools in Africa, enabling UK students to travel to Africa for a seven or 10-day programme.
