Royal Brierley factory to close
A famous Black Country crystal glassmaking brand is to stop being made in the area after 231 years.

Royal Brierley Crystal's factory in Tipton Road, Dudley, will close with the loss of its final six jobs.

The company, which received two Royal Warrants, used to employ more than 700 people and moved to Dudley from Brierley Hill in 2002.

Owners Dartington Crystal blamed the closure of the factory on the impact of cheap foreign imports.

It said some production would be moved to its factory in north Devon.

The retail shop will remain open in Tipton Road.
