Armed police in swoop on train
Armed police arrested two men allegedly involved in a Birmingham casino robbery when they arrived at London's Euston station on a train from Manchester.

West Midlands Police said a quantity of cash was seized during the arrest at 1700 GMT on Thursday.

Police were looking for two men who allegedly robbed Stanley's Casino in Star City, Birmingham, on Sunday.

The men are due to be taken back to Birmingham after they were held in London following their arrest.

Train sealed

A spokesman for Virgin Trains said the train was due into Euston from Manchester at 1607 BST but was held outside the London terminus for 47 minutes to allow armed officers to assemble.

He said passengers were allowed off when the train arrived, but the whole area was surrounded by police.

"Everyone was pretty calm, really," the spokesman added.

The men were arrested without a struggle and the train was sealed for two hours while it was thoroughly checked.
