Fourth charged over club shooting

A fourth man has appeared in court charged with the murder of a nightclub doorman in Birmingham.

Ishfaq Ahmed, 24, from Birmingham, was shot dead outside the Premonition club in Bristol Street on 20 November 2004.

On Friday Michael Christie, 32, of no fixed abode, was also charged at Birmingham Magistrates' Court with three counts of attempted murder.

No application for bail was made and he has been remanded to appear at Birmingham Crown Court next week.

Mr Christie was also charged with the attempted murders of David Nolser, Dennis Killeen and Gary Hincion.

Three other men have also been charged with Mr Ahmed's murder and three counts of attempted murder.

Dean Smith, 19, of Short Heath Road, Erdington, was remanded in custody after being charged with Mr Ahmed's murder last week.

William Carter, 28, of Broughton Road, Handsworth, 36-year-old Carl Spencer, also from Handsworth, and Dean Smith are all due to appear at Birmingham Crown Court next week.
