Hendrie was caught one-and-a-half times over the legal alcohol limit
Aston Villa midfielder Lee Hendrie has been banned from driving for a year for drink-driving.

The 26-year-old was caught one-and-a-half times over the legal alcohol limit.

Hendrie, capped once by England, was stopped after being recorded speeding at 106 mph in his Mercedes saloon on the M40 in Warwickshire.

He was charged with drink-driving after a failing a breath test, Leamington Spa Magistrates' Court heard.

Hendrie admitted one count of driving while over the legal alcohol limit.
