Conservatory stolen from bungalow

Thieves have stolen a conservatory attached to a house in County Durham.

Police said the conservatory was dismantled and then removed from the vacant bungalow in Baron's Way, Burnhope, at the weekend.

The property, which is up for sale for £300,000 after being repossessed, was also stripped of plumbing, a spa bath, and light fittings in the raid.

Sgt Neil Bickford, of Durham Police, said it would have taken several hours to complete the "operation".

He said: "It is possible people noticed the activity at the premises but assumed it was building work being carried out.

"Who ever did this has gone to considerable lengths to plan the operation and then carry it off.

"Removing a conservatory alone would have taken a team of men several hours."

Anyone with information is asked to contact police.
