Two injured in stabbing attacks

Two people were stabbed in separate disturbances in Northumberland in the early hours of Saturday.

The first incident happened outside the Bluebell pub in Bedlington, where a 31-year-old man suffered a stab wound to his arm and a slash to his head.

In the second attack, a 19-year-old man was found stabbed in the back in Edgewell Road, Prudhoe.

Neither of the victim's injuries are life-threatening. Two men have been arrested over the Bluebell stabbing.

The suspects, aged 21 and 22, are being questioned on suspicion of assault.

Northumbria Police have appealed for anyone with information about the Prudhoe attack to contact them.
