Fake ID card
The fake cards were purchased over the internet
Police on Teesside are warning teenagers that they could face prosecution if they use fake ID cards to buy alcohol.

It comes after officers seized two cards which were being used in shops in Nunthorpe and Marton by under 18s.

The cards, which were purchased over the internet, are pink in colour and carry a photograph and the words, National Identification.

They claim the carrier is 18 years old or over.

Pc Paul Lucas, from Coulby Newham Police Station, said: "I want to make parents, schools and off licences aware that they are being used by youngsters to obtain alcohol illegally.

"Anyone caught with them is committing a criminal offence and could be arrested."
