A 41-year-old man has denied murdering a woman whose body was discovered in her burned-out flat in Brighton.

Andrea Waddell, 29, who had been working as a prostitute, was found strangled in the bedroom of the flat in Upper Lewes Road on 15 October 2009.

Neil McMillan also denied charges of arson with intent to endanger life and arson being reckless as to whether the lives of others are endangered.

Lewes Crown Court remanded Mr McMillan, of Bennett Road, Brighton, in custody.

The satellite dish installer is due to be tried at the same court on 10 May.
