One dead and 10 hurt in crashes
A motorcyclist has been killed and 10 other people hurt in a series of road accidents across Surrey.

The rider, aged in his 60s, came off his bike on the A24 at Dorking. He was pronounced dead on arrival at the East Surrey Hospital in Redhill.

Meanwhile, seven occupants of a people carrier suffered minor injuries when their vehicle overturned on the M25 just before Clacket Lane services.

And three people were airlifted to hospital after two more accidents.

A cyclist on the Capital to Coast charity ride suffered severe head injuries when he came off his bike at Headley, near Tadworth.

Two people, one of them seriously hurt, were flown to hospital after a two-car crash at Send, near Woking.

A South East Coast Ambulance Service spokesman said paramedics had done everything they could to save the motorcyclist who died.

He said: "They tried to resuscitate him for a long time, but his injuries were such that he didn't survive."
