CBE for cookery broadcaster Delia

Ms Smith is a majority shareholder in Norwich City Football Club

Cookery writer and broadcaster Delia Smith has become a CBE in the Queen's Birthday Honours list.

Ms Smith, from Suffolk, who is also a majority shareholder in Norwich City Football Club, was made a CBE for services to the food industry.

She received an OBE in the Queen's 1995 New Year's Honours List.

Also honoured was Detective Chief Superintendant Stewart Gull, of Suffolk Police, who has been awarded a Queen's Police Medal.

  • Mrs Maxine Kasicki, for voluntary service to victim support in West Suffolk
  • Donald Henry Kitt, for voluntary service to Ipswich Holiday Help for Children
  • David Douglas Moar, for voluntary service to cancer charities in Norfolk and North Suffolk
  • Mrs Sandra Margaret Pell, chairman, Suffolk Waste Management Group, for services to local government
  • Mrs Maureen Dorothy Ann Reynel, for voluntary service through Families in Need
  • Mrs Doreen Savage, Felixstowe Town Council, for services to local government
  • Lt Col Ronald Ernest Warren, for services to the community in Saxmundham
